Hunter looked around his room, looking for anything to distract him. He didn't much like silence. It freaked him out. Made him want to sit in the fireplace, which was generally a very bad idea indeed. Still, it was better than awkwardness. Have you ever noticed how awkward the spelling of awkward is? And same with embarrass. It's an embarrassing word.. Do you think words and made to be how they're spelled?" It was another one of those random quesions that plagued him. Still, it was a valid thought. The words were so strange. Like how wind is soft and windy, and whisper is gentle and quiet.

Jackie laughed. "I can't say I've ever thought of that," she said. She rarely thought about the spelling of words, she just wrote them down. She had always been a very good speller, so she had never had to think about them. The one words she always had to think about before spelling, because spellcheck or Google couldn't figure out what she meant, was the spelling of names.
Jackie really hated names. Everyone should just be "Hey! You in the yellow shirt! Yeah, you!" in her opinion. Names just made life so much more confusing. They had weird spellings, and it's impossible to remember people's names. She can always remember meeting people, what happened when they met, and what they talked about, but she couldn't remember their names. It took her a few meetings to remember the person's name, if they had a normal name. Once it wasn't a normal name, she was screwed for a while. Some names stuck in her head, however. She could remember the names of a few lucky people on their first meeting. That was rare though.

((Sorry I took so long to reply.. The movers are coming tomorrow to take away all our stuff. All I'll have for the next 2 weeks is a hotel room with internet access and my laptop.))
Hunter smiled and nodded his head slowly. Most people didn't even like words, let alone think about them all the time. But he didn't get out much. He went for his coffee in the morning and then returned to his room to hang out with Harley and listen to music. Sometimes he would drive around really fast just for the sake of it, but that was only when he had absolutely nothing better to do. Besides, he liked words. They made it so much harder to communicate, and the less people that understood him, the better.
"So.. We have danced, discussed a ball, briefly conversed about words, and you have been scowled at by my family. What would you like to do now?" His voice was light and joking, but held truth to it. He had never been for a lack of things to do. Sometimes he just sat on his bed with Harlequin Dancer's head in his lap, closed his eyes, and tried to imagine what his parents had been like. He had always seen his mom as being small and beautiful with glimmering white skin, brown eyes, and black hair. He'd always seen his dad as being immensely tall with striking features, light brown hair and golden eyes that held a touch of green. He could imagine them standing together on a little sail boat as they sailed off into the sunset, smiling with love into each others eyes.
Of course, it was all speculation. He'd never seen photohraphs, nor did he have any recollection of them. He had gotten those images from a dream he'd once a few years previously. It was of being very small and sitting on the ground. In his strange dream, he'd been looking up into the faces of people he could only assume were his parents. In this dream, his brother was an infant too. They were sitting on a soft rug. The lighting was dim and he had seen a lamp somewhere behind his parents. Through the window it was dark, clearly night time. The room was pale gold or maybe some glossy yellow. The curtains tied back from the windows were a deep red. The whole place had just felt right. He'd spoken to Angelus about it and his brother had thought that maybe it was a memory. But of course, it was still just speculation.. Always just speculation.

((Aw! That sounds kinda boring! Lol, at least you get internet!))
Jackie smiled softly. She didn't care what they did, and she didn't know what they could do in Hunter's room. Well, she did know of one thing for sure, they could have sex. She wasn't about to jump into the sack with someone she barely knew though. She didn't even know why she had come to his house at all in the first place. It was a stupid move on her part, but nothing bad had happened as a result so she didn't worry too much about it.
"I don't care what we do, I don't even know what the options are. You choose something," she said. Maybe they could watch a movie or something like that. She didn't know what kind of movies Hunter was into though. Not that it mattered anyway, she liked just about everything. She hated when the whole movie was some foreign language and you had to read the subtitles the whole time, but apart from that she didn't dislike any type of movie that she was aware of.

Hunter thought about it for a moment. What was there really to do? They could always go down to the den and watch tv.. He wondered what Louise would think of that. Oh well. She was "occupied" with Jeremy. They would likely not emerge until Hunter made dinner. Sometimes no one would know Jeremy was even home if it were not for the fact that Louise mysteriously disappeared as well.
"Well.. We could go watch a movie in the den..?" The words were more a question than a statement. He wasn't sure if she would rather leave than be anywhere near his family. His family was very nervous-making and embarrassing afterall.
Re: I Threw A Lamb « Reply #65 on Aug 6, 2008, 11:10am »
"Okay," Jackie said. She didn't really want to hang around Hunter's family, but if she could distract herself with the TV it shouldn't be that bad. It wasn't even like she'd definitely be around them anyway; they could be anywhere, and not necessarily in the den. She kind of got the feeling that they'd come in just to make her uncomfortable though.
She was still curious as to why the girl knew her name. She had never seen the girl before, and she had no idea who she was, so why did the girl know her name? And it wasn't even like she just knew her first name, she knew her first and last names. It was a bit strange. It wasn't a big enough deal for her to ask Hunter, not yet anyway, but it was still in the back of her mind.

Hunter led the way back down the thin, dusty hallway and down the rickety stairs. He walked quietly through the hallways and then down the grand staircase. He walked quietly throughout the house, as though trying not to alert anyone to his presence. He approached a pair of thick dark oak doors. It clearly took some effort to pull them open. The large den had walls all of dark cherry wood. All the furniture matched, right down to the intricate persian rug. The doors face directly to the fireplace. To the right of the doors was a 60" flatscreen HDtv with a couch in front of it. On both sides of the tv were floor to ceiling shelves covered in movies. It looked as though they had raided the entire stock of several movie stores. There wasn't a single vhs in site. All the old movies they had had been put on dvd for them. It was mostly just a space saver.
Hunter waited for Jackie to come in before he pushed the heavy doors shut once again. "Take your pick of movie." He really didn't have much of an opinion on any of them since he rarely watched movies so he didn't know much about any of them.
Re: I Threw A Lamb « Reply #67 on Aug 6, 2008, 7:38pm »
Jackie followed Hunter silently through the house. She looked at the stash of movies in the den. The amount of movies he had was a bit overwhelming. She didn't have many movies; at her mom's they always just rented movies and at her dad's he downloaded them from a website and deleted them after watching them, unless they were any good.
She kind of missed watching Lord of War, 3:10 to Yuma, and Fight Club with her dad almost every night. She wouldn't mind watching one of them now, but she couldn't choose between Lord of War and Yuma. "Do you have Lord of War or 3:10 to Yuma?" she asked Hunter. She'd let him choose between the two movies. They were kind of random movies to be her favourite; one was about an arms dealer and the other was a western.

Hunter strode over to the shelves and began scanning for the first title. It was all alphabetical order so it shouldn't be too hard, but he was still having a bit of trouble. After a few moments of searching he shook his head slowly and picked up a pad of neon orange post-it notes and a black pen. He wrote the name Lord of War on it and stuck it on the wood where the movie should be. It was a reminder to Jeremy to buy the movie.
Searching back along the shelf to the very beginning where the numbers were, he pulled out 3:10 to Yuma. It was one of Jeremy's favourites. He loved it so much because Harley had played one of the dead dogs. "We don't have Lord of War, but we do have 3:10 to Yuma." He said, his voice slightly shaky. He didn't want to be lame and admit that he found the movie to be slightly frightening just by the thought that Ben Wade was so bloodthirsty and cruel in it. It made him uncomfortable. Still, he thought it was a great movie.

((I like Jeremy's the best. Still, none of them are Lamborghinis though. I am so gonna buy a Lamborghini some day, or steal the Corvette. Daddy's boss has a bagillion cars and Daddy gets to drive any of them around whenever he wants, I love when he gets the Vette. I like the Mercedes-Benz too. But, my favourite car of all time is Daddy's Mustang. It's a 1966 Coupe and I love it.))
"Do you want to watch Yuma then? We can always watch something else if it's not your type of movie or something, I don't really care," Jackie said. She loved Yuma so much though. She liked how Bed Wade was kind of charming even though he was a murderer and she loved the storyline. She hated when the guy got burned in the coach though, and she hated when Dan died at the end. And the fire at the beginning was really sad. It was still an awesome movie though.
"Sure, popcorn would be good," she said. She loved popcorn, and she wasn't a fan of watching movies without it. She really hated going to a movie theatre and not having any popcorn, that was awful.

Hunter smiled and nodded lightly. He liked 3:10 to Yuma. It wasn't oe of his favourites, but it wasn't bad either. Ben Wade was his favourite character by far. He liked Ben's attitude and morals.. Sorta.. "I'll go get some then.." He turned ad walked out of the room, shutting the doors behind him. He walked swiftly down to the kitchen and opened the pantry door. It was a huge walk-in pantry with lots of shelves. Straight across from the door was a box full of popcorn bags. He took one out and walked back out into the kitchen, shutting the dorr behind himself. He put the bag in the microwave and set it for 2 and a half minutes. He stood by, waiting for it to finish. When the clock finally beeped, signalling the end, he smiled and took it out. He poured the popcorn into the bag. It was buttery and smelled really good. Hunter walked back down the hall and into the den where he'd left Jackie. Smiling, he put the bowl on the coffee table in front of the tv.

Jackie nodded and stayed seated on the couch while waiting for Hunter to come back. She was kind of worried that those people from earlier would come in and bug her. She nervously watched the door, picking at her fingernails as she did so.
She was glad when he came back into the room. Nobody had come in with intentions on scaring her or making her uncomfortable. She smiled and took a few pieces of popcorn out of the bowl. She ate them one at a time, chewing off the crunchy parts and then sucking on the soft part.

Hunter sat down, yawning slightly. It had been a long day and he was at least somewhat tired. Not that it ever made a whole lot of difference to him whether he was tired or not. Everything just sort of stayed the same. It was all just static. Not in an electrical staticy way though. It was more in a staying the same constantly kind of way.
He smiled at Jackie and pressed 'play' on the remote control. The movie started playing and Hunter sat back to enjoy it. He loved movies. They made his world go round. People often said he had a certain 'talent' but they also knew it would never be seen. Since the accident most movie companies were refusing even to let him near the studio, let alone audition. Jeremy was working hard to get Hunter a chance to prove himself and that he was stable enough for the film industry.
He absently put his hand in the bowl and drew out a handful of popcorn, slowly eating it piece by piece.
(Yipes.. Sorry I've been gone. School is starting up and I moved.. I've been getting a ton of work.. Anyways.. I'm officially here now.)

Jackie leaned back against the couch and shifted her weight a bit, until she was more comfortable. She then just watched the movie that she had seen many times before. No matter how many times she saw a movie she liked, she never seemed to get sick of them The same was true for songs and food. Other things, like the arrangement of her bedroom, her laptop, and her phone, she got sick of very quickly and it was annoying.
((Lol, that's alright. At least you're back now. I haven't been very good at checking to see if there have been any replies on here. It's supposed to email me, but it hasn't? Lol. Oh well, now that I know you're officially here I'll come on more.))
